Played with club since he was eight years old when the club was formerly known as St. Charles soccer club. He was a member of the Campton United 88/89 Navy team for seven years while captaining them to a final four berth in the 2005 state cup. In addition, he assisted them to a 2006 Midwest Regional League championship. Luis has competed in some of the best tournaments in the country including the Dallas Cup, Nomads (CA) and Presidents day (AZ).
Began as a Junior Coach with Campton United in 2004/2005 and obtained his "E" license in 2006. Regarded amongst his peers as one of the best soccer players in the area of his age and most toted to play professional. In High School he earned three letters as a member of the St. Charles East soccer team. Named one of the top midfielders in Illinois by the Chicago Tribune. Garnered all-conference and all-area honors as a junior and a senior. Also tabbed all-state accolades as a senior, a season in which he scored 14 goals and 11 assists, and was named the team MVP.
Currently a freshman at Northern Illinois University where he's getting his degree in Education while playing soccer for the Huskies. Additionally, Luis is currently on the Chicago Fire Super 20's and PDL (Player Development League) squads.

The lone goalkeeper in the recruiting class, Steve Purdy played high school soccer for coach Eric Willson at St. Charles North. He was a first-team all-conference and all-section selection by the Chicago Tribune as a senior and an all-conference honorable mention selection as a junior. He was a two-time Illinois ODP participant and was a participant in Associate Head Coach Stan Anderson's summer camps for goalkeepers, Camp Shutout. |
